We support non-profits and social enterprises in implementing innovative solutions in community-based healthcare.
Our mission at the Healing Fields USA Corp is to support non-profits and social enterprises in implementing innovative solutions in community-based healthcare, while also providing quality and equitable primary care, education, and sustainable livelihood opportunities through affordable technology.
We are working with vulnerable populations such as women, adolescent girls, children and the elderly. Our goal is to ensure that essential services, technological advancements, and skill development resources are readily accessible in areas that lack adequate support and assistance. Through our efforts we strive to prevent intergenerational debt and poverty resulting from illness and alleviate the burden of disease on families and communities, fostering brighter futures for their children.
Healing Fields USA Corp will leverage on the expertise in sustainable, community-led, transformative programming and impact created by the Healing Fields Foundation India.
Founded by our Mukti Bosco, the Healing Fields Foundation India is over two decades old and has been doing pioneering work in creating paradigm shifts in health seeking behaviour. Its handmaiden: a robust, trained network of health change agents who anchor a community-based model of work and service. The journey and experience is spread across 6700 villages in 10 Indian states impacting 8.5 million citizens. The Foundation’s approach is comprehensive -- working to prevent health problems through education; facilitating access to health services, entitlements from the government and health products; and treating minor health concerns with care. Healing Fields Foundation in India has trained over 6000 Health Change Agents and the network is growing.
It is this accumulated expertise that will help us conceptualise and build community first solutions by partnering with mission aligned nonprofits worldwide and support them with grants for specific programs.
Our Mission Keeper, Mukti Bosco is an Ashoka Fellow and the 2022 Roux Prize winner. By nature, an empathetic being and by training an evidence-based practitioner she has been striving to find innovative and evidence-based solutions to the health challenges in India. The unique concept of Community Health Entrepreneurs was her idea and a vision that led to creating one of India’s finest and proven community located, community driven model of healthcare. She comes with a deep understanding of the target communities, the trials and tribulations of the underserved and under noticed.
Mukti Bosco received the 2022 Roux Prize, for her work bringing primary health care and preventive care to rural communities in India and is the first social entrepreneur to win the prize and the first Indian. The Roux Prize is awarded annually by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington to an individual who has used health evidence in “bold ways to make people healthier” – and to highlight how visionaries use data to change lives.
She was also a finalist of Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 and was awarded as Ashoka Fellow in 2007. Under her leadership Healing Fields Foundation India was recognized as one of the top 50 last-mile responders to COVID-19 by the World Economic Forum as well as received the +1 Global Fund Award by Roddenberry Foundation in 2020 for its high impact during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foundations of change rest on individuals. That unique set of people who have a deep sense of understanding and empathy. Health they can learn, compassion and the need to engage and bring about change is a default DNA we search for. Community driven healthcare has to touch the forgotten lives, change them and bring about a behavioural shift in addressing the community’s capacity to act and evolve…
